Gaussin Collaborates with Plastic Omnium to Advance Hydrogen-Powered Port Equipment Development

Gaussin, a French company specializing in innovative transportation solutions, has recently entered into a partnership agreement with Plastic Omnium to expedite the development of its hydrogen port equipment range.

The collaboration aims to integrate complete hydrogen systems into Gaussin's APM series of vehicles, enhancing their performance and facilitating their swift entry into the market.

Plastic Omnium, with a strong commitment to hydrogen technology, has invested over €300 million (US$320 million) since 2015 to expand its expertise and industrial footprint across the entire hydrogen value chain. With an ambitious vision, the company plans to invest an average of €100 million (US$110 million) annually, targeting a revenue goal of €3 billion (US$3.2 billion) by 2030.

By partnering with Plastic Omnium, Gaussin intends to fortify its position in the industry by leveraging the cutting-edge technology of this renowned automotive partner. Christophe Gaussin, the CEO of Gaussin, expressed confidence in the collaboration, stating that it would accelerate the market launch of their APM hydrogen range and uphold their technological leadership in the vital sector of clean mobility for the future.

Gaussin emphasizes that closed sites like ports provide an ideal environment for the implementation of hydrogen ecosystems. Given the substantial vehicle fleets found in ports, there is sufficient capacity to establish hydrogen production and distribution units. Gaussin's APM H2 port tractor serves as a direct response to the growing demand for clean mobility solutions in the port sector.

The collaboration between Gaussin and Plastic Omnium signifies a significant step forward in the advancement of hydrogen-powered port equipment. With Plastic Omnium's substantial investment and expertise, coupled with Gaussin's innovative solutions and commitment to clean mobility, the partnership is expected to deliver cutting-edge products that revolutionize the port industry's environmental footprint.
