Airlink and Lufthansa Systems Forge Partnership to Enhance Flight Operations

Airlink, a leading airline in Southern Africa, has recently formed a strategic partnership with Lufthansa Systems, marking the latter's entry into the South African market. Airlink has chosen to adopt Lufthansa Systems' cutting-edge flight operations products, including Lido Flight 4D, Lido mPilot, and Lido Airport Obstacle Data Service (AODS), to optimize their flight planning and enhance operational efficiency.

The implementation of Lido Flight 4D, an advanced and interactive flight planning solution, will enable Airlink to optimize their flight routes by incorporating real-time flight-related data such as fuel consumption, costs, and flying time.

With its highly customizable features and automation options, Lido Flight 4D empowers Airlink to achieve individual optimization of various flight phases. The solution integrates real-time data updates, weather data integration, and fuel price updates, ensuring the accuracy and currency of flight plans.

By adopting Lido mPilot, Airlink aims to enhance the safety and efficiency of their pilots' operations. This comprehensive charting application provides easy access to terminal charts, a dynamically generated enroute map, an Airport Moving Map, and all essential operational documents. The charts are generated electronically using a reliable worldwide geographic information database and necessary aeronautical source data, guaranteeing precision and high quality.

Lufthansa Systems' data solution, Lido AODS, offers Airlink pilots the means to optimize take-offs and landings through the electronic flight bag (EFB). By providing up-to-date information about runways and airports, Lido AODS enables pilots to ensure that the selected runway is suitable for the specific aircraft type and prevailing conditions. This becomes particularly crucial in critical situations like engine failure, where pilots must make rapid decisions regarding safe landings. By leveraging certified data from global resources, Lido AODS ensures the utmost accuracy and reliability.
